Zap16.com started with a simple goal, Friends trying to keep in
touch after one of us moved 200 km away. At first we were just publishing our
aviation pictures taken in almost 18 years. Soon after we started publishing
our pics we started to make fact-sheets of various aircraft types, gradually

To get traffic you need to do a lot of work. First your site
needs content, al lot of content. Search engines like Google will only give
high rankings if the site has a lot of content and a lot of internal links,
programs and promises of websites to give you # 1 rankings are nonsense they
cannot help you if you don't have content. As soon as the content of your site
gets larger you need to submit you site to every search-engine you can find.
Google is the most interesting because a lot of other search-engines (like
Yahoo) use the Google power. Also link up with as many other sites as you can,
the more your link spreads over the net, the better rankings you get in the
(main) search-engines specially Google.
More than 80% of our visitors found our site from search
engines, 30-40% from Google!
To get hits from a search engine like Google you need a good
ranking. To get a good ranking you also need your link on as many sites as

Like so many webmasters we tried to make some money with our
site, most programs failed because the change that someone that visit your
site, linked thru to some other site and actually buy's something there is to
small, especially when your traffic is not that high yet. The best programs for
your site are programs that offer products that are in the same interest as
your site's content.

In our case the first working program was the Allposters
program. Allposters sells posters and prints, you can build your own stores
that contain (in our case) only aviation related posters. after a few weeks we
sold our first posters and now we sell for an average of around $ 100 of
posters each month. at 25/30% commission that makes us $ 25 / $ 30 . Don't think
you will ever get rich from an average site, but it does pays for your hosting
and other small costs.

space for you! Add space is sold mostly for a month, the
advertiser pays a monthly amount for the add space on your site or blog. Payment
goes via Paypall in our case, it's safe and fast.. The higher your
ALEXA page rank
the easier add space will be sold, and the better the price will be!
