NATO Tiger meet 2011 from 09 May – 20 May 2011 at Cambrai Air Base in the Northern part of France with host unit: Escadron de Chasse 01.012.
This tiger meet was to be the biggest tiger meet ever. Because of the 50th anniversary of the tiger meet but unfortunately recent world events have lead to the cancellation of various participants, some even in the last days before the start. But there was still an interesting list of aircraft.
On a typical Tiger Meet flying program you will find missions like: range firing, air-to-air, low level nav and COMAO missions… all of them with briefings and debriefings. Due to the growing helicopter force within the Tigers they are intigrated within the mission as Forward Air Controllers or in a CSAR role. Besides their work within the COMAO’s the helicopter force ofter practices with local army (special) forces.
